Newbry reported today. December travel, estimated at 462,217,750 miles, ran contrary to normal trend by exceeding mileage of the preceding month as holiday-bound motorists took to the roads, Newbry said. The Francis Nickerson family now consists of three, the two older children being girls. o "THE EGG AND I'" MADE FOLKS TOO CONSPICUOUS A dispatch from Seattle under date of Feb. 6 says a suit has been instituted by 10 persons who alleged they were the real life persons from whom charac ters for the best-selling "The Egg ind I" were drawn. The suit opened in superior court Monday. Defendants in the action were authoress Betty Bard McDonald and her husband, Donald; the Bon Marche, a Seattle depart ment store; J. B. Lippincott com pany, and Pocket Books, Inc., puoiisners. The plaintiffs re quested $975,000.
